Workshops 2007

In October 2007 a second series of workshops was held in South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda on the theme Improving Access to Sustainable Energy: Meeting energy needs and providing healthy living conditions using passive techniques and renewable energy technologies. The workshops aim to achieve the following:
Experts from different disciplines were invited to share information and know-how (North-South and South-South), to show the participants the range of options that can be considered to improve energy use in buildings (solar use, low energy standards, materials, solar architecture strategies, etc.). The lectures were used as a basis for discussion to consider relevant options, and identify steps that can be considered for action to improve the legal and institutional framework relevant to environmental architecture.

The final proceedings of all three workshops are available on CD-ROM or can be downloaded here.
