Workshops 2006

In October 2006 workshops on “Sustainable and Energy Efficient Building in Africa” were held in South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda.
All the PREA project partners wish to thank the speakers, exhibitors, sponsors and more importantly the participants for attending these interesting and fruitful events.
This first series of workshops were helpful in highlighting some of the country specific issues related to implementing sustainable and energy efficiency technologies and strategies in these specific African countries. The workshops also brought to light the importance of increasing the local knowledge base and educational opportunities and thus the need for creating a specific Masters course dedicated to these topics.
One of the papers presented during the workshops was on the ISES White Paper for Developing Countries: Renewable Energy Future for the Developing World, presented and written by Prof. Dieter Holm. To download a copy of the White Paper please click

A second series of workshops in 2007 will expand on many of the topics addressed in the 2006 series. To learn more about the workshops in 2007 click
